Ruby Mahoney
Pre-Service English Teacher / New South Wales
Who am I?
Greetings! My name is Ruby, and I am studying to become a teacher in New South Wales.
Having grown up in coastal Victoria, I moved to Sydney earlier this year to study a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at the University of New South Wales. I was drawn to teaching through the tutoring experience I gained during my undergraduate studies. For three years I tutored small classes of primary and secondary students in areas of literacy and numeracy. I found this experience both rewarding and inspiring, and so I decided to become a teacher.
Beyond current studies in teaching, my academic background lies in creative writing, which includes literature, media and philosophy. As a result, I have chosen to focus my Masters on the subject of English.
I have provided specific details of my employment and academic history below. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.
